Reality TV Wiki Edit!

I just made another edit on the Reality Television page on Wikipedia. I added a little piece of information about the origins of reality TV that I found on this website.

Speaking of CBS, they actually aired a show "Wanted," from 1955 to 1956 that featured interviews with wanted fugitives and their families. This is similar to the show cops, which started long ago as well. But as far as reality tv in general goes, CBS is the first with the show Candid Camera. This show followed people around with cameras and watch them do silly things, and was even mocked on other shows, such as Saved by the Bell. It started in 1948 and took the TV world by storm!
Versions of Candid camera were made all over the world. It even had famous writers for it such as Woody Allen!

MTV even made a similar type of spinoff recently, where they would put "real people" in awkward situations and tape their reactions. If they stayed for a certain amount of time without walking away, they won $100. It's an interesting concept, what will they come up with next?

Hello Deborah (aka girl that watches lots of tv)...haha j/k

Cool wikipedia edit! I was a big fan of the syndicated shows of Candid Camera...it may have just been that the love of my life, Suzanne Somers, was the co-host, but the writing was awesome and I thought it was WAY better that MTV's stupid Boiling Points show. Additionally, I have a question about the fugitives show. Did the show actually do interviews with the fugitives, because wouldn't they get in trouble with the cops for aiding and abedding a felon? I do think it is a really cool concept though and if they did do that, I am definitely going to try to find some recording of the show because I would be fascinated (my favorite movie when I was little was The Fugitive)! As usual, I am thoroughly impressed w/ your blogging!

What I found in my research was that they would interview the criminal's family members! ...I have never seen this, but it does seem pretty interesting. However, for me, I'll stick to the lighthearted reality TV shows such as the Real World and Cheerleader nation.
